Bereavement emotions

The Réseau québécois de recherche en soins palliatifs et de fin de vie -RQSPAL organizes monthly conferences to popularize the knowledge acquired by its members.

During this session, Jean-Marc Barreau, Ph.D, D.Th., holder of the Jean Monbourquette Chair on social support for the bereaved and assistant professor at the Université de Montréal's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, will offer a talk on the emotions of bereavement.

Taken in its most fundamental dimension, grief is understood as the loss of a loved one. The emotions that weigh down the bereaved person fluctuate in both variety and intensity. This conference will be an immersion in the emotional reality of the bereaved person and the various agents of his or her interdisciplinary accompaniment.
