Workshop on the choice of end-of-life location
The Cancéropole est "Parcours de santé" network is organizing a workshop on the issue of choice of end-of-life location in oncology, combining presentations by professionals in the field, inter-regional research and a round table discussion. Several members of the Plateforme network are among the speakers.
End-of-life issues in oncology, and more specifically the choice of place of death, are themes of interest to the Cancéropôle Est "Parcours de santé" network. End-of-life location is determined by factors linked to the disease and the environment, but also by the patient's wishes. And although the majority of terminally ill cancer patients prefer to die at home, most of them die in hospital. But why do they do this? What are the issues involved in choosing an end-of-life location, for the patient, the family carer, professional carers and funders?
