Identification of contextual elements facilitating the implementation of complex interventions in palliative care - a review of the scope in implementation sciences in the context of palliative care
Many so-called complex interventions have demonstrated their benefits in scientific studies, but have not been proven in clinical practice. This can be explained by a poor translation of the results obtained in controlled situations (studies) when the intervention is transposed into a real-life context. Implementation is then a challenge in order to actually achieve the expected benefits. Numerous implementation frameworks, i.e. summaries of the various elements to be taken into account when designing an intervention, have been described to help implement these interventions in a pre-existing care system. The aim of this research work is to synthesize the characteristics of implementation frameworks in order to determine whether their use in palliative care interventions is relevant and what adaptations, if any, are necessary in this context.
