Call for papers for the Early-career researchers ’day 2026

The next Scientific Days of the National Platform for End-of-Life Research will take place on November 24 and 25, 2026, at the Condorcet Campus, in Aubervilliers (93). The first of these days is dedicated to young researchers conducting research on end-of-life and palliative care, whatever their discipline. It is an opportunity to share experiences, bring together different methodological and disciplinary approaches and create links around these themes.

The call for papers is open from May 18 to July 17. The jury will decide whether the paper will be presented orally or as a poster.

Candidates wishing to present their work are invited to send us, via the online form below, a curriculum vitae and a summary in French of their paper of no more than 3,000 characters. This summary should detail the research problem, the methodology used, any points of method or field realities that may give rise to discussion, and the expected spin-offs.
The selection committee will be particularly attentive to the presentation of results from this research.

Only one submission per candidate is allowed.

Who can apply?

Applications are reserved for doctoral students and young researchers who have defended their thesis within the last two years.

They are also open to students in the second year of a research master's degree who are working on a research question relating to death, palliative care and the end of life, all disciplines1.

Non-national applications (i.e. from outside France) may be considered, provided that the applicant understands French and can answer questions in French.

All disciplines may be accepted if the research theme falls well within the field of end-of-life and palliative care.

Oral communications

Oral communications will be presented on Tuesday November 24 and will last around 30 minutes. Subject to the speaker's agreement, they will be filmed and then made available on the Platform's Youtube channel and website.

Posters

Papers not selected for oral presentation may eventually be selected for poster presentation. These posters will be available for consultation throughout the duration of the scientific days, both in posted version and in digital format on the Platform's website. (Details will be provided at a later date).

Publication opportunity

As the National Platform for End-of-Life Research has established a collaboration with the journal Médecine palliative, the selected speakers will be invited, after the event, to submit, if they so wish, an article to this journal with a view to the publication of a special issue. They will be accompanied in this process by the Platform team.

The National Platform for End-of-Life Research also encourages the sharing of presentation materials via the HAL open archive platform.
