Connect. Collaborate. Create. Bridging communities for participatory research and citizen science

International interactive symposium on participatory research and citizen science.

Jointly organized by the European COESO and PRO-Ethics projects, this symposium will focus on the social sciences and humanities and the integration of participatory approaches at the research funding stage.

It will bring together researchers from a wide range of backgrounds, citizen science practitioners, research funding bodies, ethics experts and policy-makers.

Participants will be invited to shape content and activities, leading workshops, breakout sessions or poster presentations.

Main topics will include:

  • Participatory research, citizen science and open science networks
  • Support services for participatory research and citizen science
  • Methodologies for realizing and teaching citizen science and ethical and participatory approaches to research, including in funding agencies
  • Data flows and communication formats
  • Factors and barriers to implementing, supporting and funding citizen science, as well as participation in funding agency processes
  • Evaluation and assessment of participatory processes
