The Impact of Major Health Research Programs

The Health Research Programs Agency, administered by Inserm, is organizing its annual event dedicated to major health research programs.

This year’s event will focus on the impact of major health research programs: what they produce, transform, and make possible from scientific, economic, societal, and international perspectives. Through the 17 programs brought together for this event—several of which were launched in 2026—this conference will highlight the benefits of public investment in research, as well as the conditions under which this investment translates into tangible health benefits for our fellow citizens.

The programs address major public health issues at the heart of public concerns and policies: end-of-life care, women’s and couples’ health, the links between food systems and health, chronic inflammatory diseases, emerging infectious diseases, zoonoses, and many other health priorities. They demonstrate research’s ability to anticipate risks, address current and future health challenges, and develop solutions that benefit the population.

This event will bring together scientific experts, institutional representatives, stakeholders from the health ecosystem, journalists, industry leaders, and think tanks to share their analyses and perspectives on the major challenges facing health research and its impact.
