Partnership with patients and communities

Clinical Ethics and the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal are jointly organizing the 18th annual International Conference on Clinical Ethics and Consultation (ICCEC) and the 32nd annual Canadian Bioethics Society (CBS).

Patient partnership and community engagement have long been recognized as key factors in improving patient care and population health. From participation in interdisciplinary teams, to research and policy development, patients and communities are now routinely included in healthcare development. Achieving the ideal of meaningful partnership is not without its challenges, especially in our pluralistic societies.

End-of-life issues, palliative care and aid in dying are among the focuses of this symposium.

At this symposium, a diverse and international group of ethicists, researchers, healthcare professionals, patients, families and community partners will discuss ways to build partnerships in health ethics and ethics consultations.
