A major societal movement is being orchestrated worldwide with regard to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). The healthcare field is no exception. Palliative and end-of-life care (EOLC), which suffered from an unfounded opposition to curative care in its early days, is unfortunately not accessible to all. This study day was an opportunity to discuss the issues in palliative and end-of-life care in relation to these criteria of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Aline CHEYNET DE BEAUPRE (CERCRID, Université d'Orléans) and Augustin BOULANGER, (ICES, CRICES) began by talking about the Invisibles of end-of-life law. Then Stéphanie DANEAU (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières) addressed issues related to the care provided by the nurse to people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the end of life. Next, Christian NTIZIMIRA (Centre Africain de Recherche sur la Fin de Vie, Rwanda) presented a paper entitled 'Kusa Ikivi ': La mort comme un accomplissement dans le contexte socio-culturel rwandais. Finally, Sylvie FORTIN (Anthropology Department, Université de Montréal) spoke on theend-of-life experiences of migrants and non-migrants in Montreal, before the pandemic.
