The objectives of this day were to share research experience and new knowledge on literacy issues for people in palliative and end-of-life care, their loved ones, caregivers and the population, to identify and understand its challenges, to explore avenues for improvement and finally to determine future research directions.

Five researchers took turns to reflect on these issues at the fifth edition of this international francophone scientific day:

Clémence COUPAT addressed the topic of the literacy of death. Marthe DUCOS addressed communication within the family during the serious illness of a parent with young children. Clément MEIER presented a public health perspective on end-of-life health competencies among older adults in Switzerland. Mélissa LEFEBVRE spoke about cultural competence in palliative care, proposing an exploration of nursing perception in a multicultural and multilingual context, and finally, Anouk BÉRUBÉ analyzed the perspectives of people in socio-economic vulnerability on palliative and end-of-life care and planning.
