Abstract: Today, more than 3 million French people are living with cancer or have recovered from it. This situation has led to the emergence of unprecedented issues linked to the social lives of "survivors". Among them, the social issues linked to parenthood and the family are poorly understood. In current scientific literature, the question of access to parenthood for cancer survivors is mainly approached from a biomedical or psychological prism. However, beyond questions of fertility and motivation, there is currently little work in the social sciences concerning parenthood and the family after cancer. In this context, the main aim of this research is to better understand the social and ethical issues related to the experience of parenthood in a context of post-cancer risk. This research is based on the construction of original empirical material from interviews with former cancer patients becoming parents. In this ongoing research, I am cooperating with Benjamin Derbez (coord.) on programming and carrying out the research: fieldwork, production of qualitative data and analyses, publications and scientific communications, organization and involvement of the collective. We are working on several lines of research (cancer, post-cancer, risk, healing, body, return to "normal life", parenthood, family) and issues at the heart of situations and trajectories of becoming a parent after cancer.
