Research activities

I'm a doctoral student in the philosophy of medicine at Sorbonne-Université. My thesis is entitled "Patients-ghosts: memory and death among caregivers". I'm studying the relationship that caregivers, in the broadest sense of the term, have with death, through the memories of their deceased patients. I seek to understand the effects of the patient's experience of death on caregivers. My approach is based on field philosophy. I analyze the results of this field survey to shed light on questions concerning caregivers' relationship with death, particularly through accounts of care relationships with patients who have subsequently died. The expression "ghost-patients", which I heard in the field, helps to question this presence/absence of patients after their deaths, sometimes still present in the minds of caregivers.
