My research interests focus on serious illness, incurable disease, death and the dead, the dead body, and the management of it in France.
Currently completing a PhD in anthropology, I am working on existing forms of palliative care and the end of life in the context of caring for people with cancer in an integrative oncology support care service. My focus is particularly on healthcare professionals confronted with serious and/or incurable illness, and their practices in this setting.
In particular, I question the performativity of the term "palliative" guaranteeing an informality of practices in the service of continuity of care between curative and palliative.
As co-organizer of the Réseau Les Morts, I'm also interested in the following themes: treatments of death by a society or social group; processes, networks of actors, ideologies, affects and political and territorial dynamics governing death; mourning and memory; mortuary and funeral rites.
