Results of AMI End of Life 2021
Discover the winners of the call for expressions of interest launched by the Plateforme nationale pour la recherche sur la fin de vie (National Platform for End-of-Life Research) to fund interdisciplinary research projects.
Launched on October 4, 2021, this call closed on November 26, 2021. Sixteen projects were received, of which fifteen were eligible.
To evaluate them, the Platform called on independent external experts, specialists in each of the fields represented in the applications, and members of the Scientific Advisory Board.
When selecting the winners, this evaluation committee paid particular attention to the quality and originality of the proposed research, its multidisciplinary nature and the joint participation of young and established researchers.
The jury, which met on January 31, 2022, selected five projects:
- Determinants of access to supportive care and inpatient palliative care for elderly cancer patients (DASPPAC)
- Drafting a project for a clinical study of the use of psilocybin in existential distress in oncology (Psilonco)
- The power of narrative at the end of life (RECIF)
- End-of-life, death and bereavement in schools (FDVMDMS2022)
- Palliative care, end of life and Parkinson's disease (SPARK)
(Summaries of these projects can be viewed on a dedicated page on the Platform website.)
Each of these projects will be funded up to a maximum of 20,000 euros. The Platform also offers researchers who so wish support or advice in setting up these projects, whether or not they win.
A new call for expressions of interest is planned in 2 years.
