My research focuses on the end-of-life experience in intensive care, on decision-making processes for limiting and stopping treatment, on end-of-life practices including deep and continuous sedation maintained until death, on organ donation whether in brain-dead donors or in ringers who have died of controlled circulatory arrest (Maastricht 3), on the definition and criteria for determining death. My work is based on a reflexive practice of my experience of care in intensive care and organ donation coordination, on collective reflections conducted with care teams, or members of institutional groups, finally on an interdisciplinary academic scientific approach mobilizing international literature and empirical research, surveys of practices or perceptions, observational retrospective studies, prospective studies combining quantitative and qualitative approaches.
