Research activities

My research themes revolve around the social treatment of death and dying (end of life, death, care of bodies, mortuary and funeral rites, mourning), which I link to anthropological invariants such as order and disorder, separation and links between the living and the dead, or the profane and the sacred, more info here: https://mort-anthropologie.com/author/mjulier-costes/

In parallel, I run training days for carers.e.s (DU, IFSI, Education Nationale,...), social workers and funeral directors around the research topics mentioned above, with a major focus on the transmission of knowledge and know-how to professionals.recently, I've also been working as a professional practice analyst for institutions in the medico-social (IME, ESAT, Résidences Autonomie) and funeral sectors. My approach is based on contributions from socio-anthropology and my experience as a trainer in social work and group dynamics. I am a certified practitioner of Analyse des Pratiques, Méthode APEOS®.
